Take Interstate 87, NY State Thruway North, through Albany; I87 becomes Adirondack Northway (don't head west towards Rochester or Buffalo!), head north to Exit 30 on the Northway, "Keene Valley, Lake Placid", etc. Left at bottom of exit ramp, head north through Underwood, bear left towards Keene Valley at fork between Keene Valley and Elizabethtown, go through Keene Valley; Route 73 merges with 9N, follow signs to Whiteface Mountain, follow into Keene, but bear right onto 9N when 73 bears West to head to Lake Placid. Follow 9N through Upper Jay, crossing the East Branch of the Ausable River, bear right towards Jay following the river, turn left onto Rte. 86 West, then right on Ausable Drive to Ausable Acres, left onto SawMill Drive, left onto Alder Drive, right onto Scenic Point Drive. Birchwood Ski Chalet is on left at 88 Scenic Point Drive, Lot 44.Welcome.
From Points West: Buffalo, Syracuse, Watertown, and Lake Placid, NY:
Head east on I90 to Syracuse, then North on I80 to Watertown, 53 miles northeast on Rte. 11, 12 miles on State 68 to Colton, NY, 9 miles southeast on State 56, about 40 miles on Rte. 3 through Tupper Lake to Saranac Lake, Rte. 86 through Lake Placid, following signs past town for Whiteface Mountain. Pass Whiteface, go straight through Town of Wilmington, at 4 Corners (Bonnieview/ Whiteface Memorial Highway and Rte. 86), go right on Rte. 86 West, cross West Branch of Ausable River, to right on Ausable Drive, left onto SawMill Drive, left onto Alder Drive, right onto Scenic Point Drive. Birchwood Ski Chalet is on left at 88 Scenic Point Drive, Lot 44.
From Montreal and Points North:
29 miles south on Auto route 15, 38 miles South on I87, the Adirondack Northway, EXIT 34, 16 miles south on 9N to Jay, NY, Take Rte 86 5 miles on Rte. 86 West to then 17 miles on 9N to Jay, right on Rte. 86 West to right on Ausable Drive, left onto SawMill Drive, left onto Alder Drive, right onto Scenic Point Drive.
